For this piece, I was to create a 3D model of a boat of my choosing and animate it using Cinema 4D.
Background/Research: I was given many options of boats to model, provided by the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. Once I chose a boat, I think had to render the boat in Cinema 4D. After modeling the boat, I went back into Cinema 4D and animated the boat to be drifting on water.
Objective: Create an animated boat learning/using Cinema 4D.
Challenges: Learning Cinema 4D was quite challenging. To go from creating 2D designs, jumping into Cinema 4D was a major challenge for myself. It took a lot of learning of how to view from a different perspective and paying attention to delicate details.
Solution: I would ask a professor of mine questions on how to accomplish certain things I was wanting for my work. I also looked into tutorials on youtube to make sure I got the correct lighting, texture, wave formation, and sky above to reflect. Overall, once learning Cinema 4D, it was a great experience and one I look forward to using again.
